GRAPHIC VIDEO: 3 boys beat 1 on school bus
CNN — A Florida school bus driver won't face any charges after a brutal attack on a student on his bus.
But, the driver is still trying to explain why he didn't intervene in the fight at the time.
Feeling helpless to intervene, Pinellas school bus driver, John Moody pleads for somebody to stop a three-on-one beat down.
He radioed in for help.
Gulfport police say three 15-year-olds attacked a 13-year-old after that boy told Lealman Intermediate School officials about their offer to sell him pot.
Two-and-a-half weeks after the beating, the driver is in retirement.
Moody talked about being unable to do anything to stop the violence.
The three boys just jumped on him and started pounding on him and I did all I can.
I was looking.
It was like I was in shock.
I was petrified.
In the days after the attack, the Gulfport police chief said Moody should have assisted the wounded victim.
There was clearly an opportunity for him to intervene and or check on the welfare of the children or the child in this case and he didn't make any effort to do so
But, constrained by district policy and not trained in the medical field, Moody insists, he did what he could.
