Hasan contempt of court for not shaving again

Friday, August 3, 2012 - 2:33pm

FORT HOOD -- Maj. Nidal Hasan appeared in court today for another pre-trial hearing, and the beard is still there.

For the second week in a row he was held in contempt of court and fined 1,000 dollars.

Judge Col. Gregory Gross has demanded that if Hasan shows up for court Aug. 20th and still has his beard he will be forcibly shaved.

Hasan claims his beard is expressing his Muslim faith.

He is charged with 13 counts of murder and 32 counts of attempted murder.
