Waco , TX — On Friday, HEB held a pantry makeover shopping trip in Waco as a part of their Slim Down Showdown competition.
Belton resident Ashley Trimble was assisted by a dietician in the store on the right foods to purchase. Prior to the shopping trip, Trimble says she threw away five trash bags full of poor food choices out of her pantry.
This slim down competition is held by HEB each year across the state, selecting 30 participants who go on a 14 week weight loss journey to ultimately jump start a lifestyle change.
"My wakeup call was this past summer when I went to Seattle and the plane ride was really really tight and uncomfortable. And, I love to be active, and so I knew I needed to make a change," said Trimble, who also says she comes from a family of people with weight-related illnesses.
Trimble hopes to lose at least 50 pounds by the end of the competition. The winner of the program will take home a $10,000 grand prize.
