Waco, Tx — To celebrate the season, H-E-B will host the 24th annual Waco Feast of Sharing dinner, an H-E-B holiday tradition for community residents to enjoy a delicious, free meal and festive entertainment.
Hundreds of H-E-B Partners and community volunteers will work together to prepare and serve more than 6,000 meals to residents of Waco on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Altogether, 1,500 lbs of glazed ham; 1,500 lbs. of mashed potatoes; 1,320 lbs of vegetable medley; 120 gallons of brown gravy; 600 pies; 6,000 dinner rolls and soft drinks will be served.
Feast of Sharing is part of H-E-B's commitment to support the communities it serves. It gives the company an opportunity to serve a nutritious meal, share a spirit of camaraderie during the holiday season and express thanks and appreciation to the community.
"We invite the whole community to come out. And, really, it's our intention to feed the needy and to bring folks together during the holidays," said Tamra Jones, H-E-B Public Affairs.
The dinner will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Extraco Events Center.
