HEWITT -- By this fall the city of Hewitt could face increased water rates.
In order to offset projected increases in the cost of providing water to residents, city council members will review two rate adjustment proposals.
The first option will increase the base rate from $3 to $33 and raise usage fees by up to 35 cents per 1,000 gallons.
The second will keep the base rate but increase usage fees by up to 85 cents per 1,000 gallons.
If either plans are approved they will go into effect October 1.
