Hewitt man accused of beating person to death
Robinson, Tx — A Hewitt man is accused of beat another man to death on Wednesday, July 11.
According to police, officers were called to Easley's residence shortly before noon on July 11, where he was found with severe head trauma. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he remained unconscious until his death Friday evening. Easley was taken off life support on Tuesday after almost a week of doctors trying to save him.
On Friday, the Robinson Police Department charged Clinton Douglas Mills, 30, in the aggravated assault of Mathew Ray Easly, 56, of Robinson. That charge was upgraded to murder when Easly died. Mills remains in the McLennan County Jail.
An autopsy has been ordered and police are continuing their investigation.
