The Hill County Sheriff attributes patience and teamwork to dissolving an 8-hour standoff earlier this week.

Aaron Glowski, 33, was tear gassed, arrested and charged with 14 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer and one count of Illegal Possession of a Firearm.

Deputies were called to a house at Private Road 221 and FM 2114 near Aquilla.

There they found Glowski rummaging through his ex-girlfriend’s home.

They entered the house and tried to detain him before Glowski started shooting at them.

The deputies retreated and local enforcement was called in.

A steady dose of tear gas over the next six hours caused Glowski to eventually give up.

“McLennan County came to help, as well as Bosque County, the DPS, the game warden and Texas Rangers. We had a lot of help, and all worked together really well. We were able to make it home safely to our families and the bad guy's in jail. That’s what we want," said Hill County Sheriff Michael Cox.

Glowski is sitting in the Hill County Jail facing a $750,000 bond.
