Judge declares mistrial in Falk capital murder trial

Monday, January 28, 2013 - 4:31pm

After nearly a month and a half of trial delays, the capital murder trial of John Falk Jr. has now been declared a mistrial.

Brazos County jurors returned to the courtroom this morning to hear closing arguments but the judge declared a mistrial, saying it was nearly impossible for jurors to remain impartial after such long delays.

Falk is accused of killing a correctional officer while escaping from a Huntsville prison back in 2007.
