Killeen man arrested for attempting to abduct family member

A Killeen man is charged with attempted kidnapping after police find zipties and metal chains in a backpack.

Edgar Lewis Bradshaw Jr., 48,has been charged of aggravated kidnapping and his bail has been set a $ 1 million.

According to an arrest affidavit, on August 11, around 4:00a.m., a man was arriving home in the 1500 block of Julie Jacqueline street saw a man in all black with a mask carrying away a woman who lived two doors down from him.

The neighbor ran after the man, fought with him and attempted to hold him in a choke hold until police arrived but the man was able to escape.
When police arrived, the victim told officers, she was coming out of her house when she saw a man in black with a mask coming out of her car.

The man then ran after her and attempted to carry her away until the neighbor intervened, said the affidavit.

Inside the victims car was a black backpack with the name Bradshaw, a relative to the victim. Inside the backpack was latex gloves, zip ties, a metal chain, padlock, rubber gloves, a bottle with an unknown liquid and a knife, said the affidavit.

Police arrested the man, after he came out from behind some bushes and started walking toward them, said the affidavit.
