A Killeen man is in the Bell County Jail after a four-hour standoff ended on Saturday morning.

The girlfriend of Daniel Alejandro Velarde, 29, called Killeen PD early Saturday morning and told officers that her and Velarde got into a domestic disturbance.

She also said that he had also taken their three-year-old child inside the home.

Killeen PD's SWAT team- the Tactical Response Unit- negotiated for four hours before Velarde surrendered at his house in the 4200 block of Alan Kent Drive.

The infant was released back to the mother.

Velarde was booked and charged with a third-degree felony assault.
