Killeen Police investigating Friday night homicide

Killeen Police are currently investigating a homicide that happened Friday night.

It happened in the 1200 block of Fox Creek at 5:24 p.m. Friday.

On arrival, officers found a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1300 block of Fox Creek. He was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Due to his age, his name will not be released.

Investigations revealed that the victim and another male were involved in an altercation inside a dark Saturn in the 1300 block of Fox Creek. During the incident, the driver shot the passenger and the passenger was able to run from the vehicle but collapsed on the sidewalk.

The driver was later found and taken into custody in the 1200 block of Fox Creek.

The suspect is currently residing in Killeen City Jail.

His name will not be released until the Bell County District Attorney's Office has reviewed the case and charges are filed.
