A mom was arrested in Killeen after she was caught driving while intoxicated with a child in the car.

Bernice Nicole Torres, 31, is facing a charge of driving intoxicated with a child passenger.

According to an arrest affidavit, on Saturday, shortly before 8:15 p.m. officers were sent to Twin Creek Drive and Veterans Memorial Boulevard after receiving a report of a reckless driver.

Police observed a car swerving from lane to lane and driving into oncoming traffic from Rancier to Twin Creek.

The report stated, after pulling the vehicle over, officers smelled alcohol on the 31-year-old's breath and spotted a 3-year-old passenger in the car.

Torres admitted to officers that she had four or five tequila shots before getting behind the wheel.

A field sobriety test proved Torres had a blood alcohol level of almost twice the legal limit.

The 31-year-old's bail was set at $20,000.
