Thursday, June 28, 2012 - 5:31pm

Killeen Police arrested a Killeen woman at her residence in the 1600 block of W. Stan Schlueter, for the charge of Animal Cruelty today, just after 9:00am.

Killeen Police Department detectives, officers, the Animal Control Unit, the Harker Heights Police Department Animal Control Unit and the City of Killeen Code Enforcement officers responded to 1605 W. Stan Schlueter on June 28, 2012. Upon their arrival officers arrested the female resident and animal control officers seized twenty-nine dogs that were on the property. This is a result of an investigation in which complaints about the living conditions of the animals at 1605 W. Stan Schlueter were received. Some of the complaints involved the size of the dogs living quarters which were not adequate for their movement. The dogs were exposed to an increased risk of disease because the dogs either did not have water or the water was extremely dirty and the enclosures had an excessive amount of feces inside them forcing the dogs to live and sleep in these conditions. Animal Control Officers issued numerous citations to the resident in the past and due to the non compliance a Warrant to Seize Cruelly Treated Animals was issued.

Regina Arlene Long was arrested for Cruelty to Animals (Class A Misdemeanor) and transported to the Killeen City Jail; she is awaiting arraignment on Friday, June 29, 2012.

Now, lets make the punishment harsh enough to fit the crime. I think this is a crime of the worst kind. Poor innocent animals forced to live in hell. They need to put her in a cell with her living conditions just like the ones that she forced those poor dogs to live in.........
