A Killeen woman has been indicted for capital murder after she beat an elderly man to death with a golf club.

Christian Charlene  Bohannon, remains in the Bell County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond.

The 25-year-old is charged with the death of a Killeen man, Jack B Ray.

According to an affidavit, on October 12, deputies were called to a home on 439 in Bell County after receiving a report of a deceased man.  Responding officers found the 85-year-old and reported  the master bedroom had been searched. Autopsy reports showed ray had suffered multiple blunt force injuries to the head.

In a verbal and written statement, Bohannon admitted to police that she had planned to "'hit a lick" at Jack Ray's house. She described  'hitting a lick' as stealing items from the home.

The affidavit stated, "during the course of stealing items the victim was hit with a golf club."

A pathologist determined the wounds on the victims head were consistent with the shape of a golf club.

If convicted Bohannon  could face the death penalty.
