KPD investigates auto/pedestrian fatality

Killeen police responded to a 911 call, at 4:20 p.m. on December 25, in reference to a vehicle/pedestrian crash in the 2500 block of east Highway 190.

Officers arrived to find an unresponsive male laying in the median and a silver Ford Mustang, occupied by a male and female stopped on the side of the roadway. Witnesses told officers they saw the male standing in the median when for unknown reasons the male ran into oncoming eastbound traffic and was struck by the Ford Mustang.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced the male pedestrian, Warren Keaton Cook III, a 20-year-old Killeen man, deceased at 5:18 p.m. No autopsy has been ordered at this time. The occupants of the Ford Mustang were not injured in this crash.

This crash continues to be investigated and more information will be released as it becomes available.
