After more than four years of controversy, the College Station city council finally approved a contract to build a nature center out at Lick Creek Park.

The nature center, which will have heating and air conditioning, will be an informational and educational center for the community.

The center was originally approved back in 2008 by voters as part of a bond but up until now a contract had never been finalized.

The $281,500 contract was approved by a slim margin with a 4 to 3 vote at council's last meeting.
