WACO -- Today people in Waco got a splash of education on water conservation.
A speaker at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course hosted a training session in regards to evaporation rates and summer water usage.
Discussions covered how to best deal with drought issues and learning irrigation practices to help conserve water for the community.
"Going forward we never know what is going to happen. We could go right into another summer like last summer and be in bad shape again. We want to encourage people to conserve on the front end," said Jonathan Echols, spokesman for Waco Water Utilities Services.
The city of Waco and Cottonwood Creek have implemented a weather station at the golf course that collects online data to show you how much you should water your lawn.
