Local teen arrested in connection with convenience store murder

Authorities have arrested a teenager in connection with a fatal Star Mart robbery from earlier this month.

Terry Grant Scott, 17, of Killeen, is charged with with murder of Austin James Sampson, 25. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke issued a warrant for his arrest. 

Scott was taken into custody in the area of Metropolitan and Trimmier and booked into the Killeen City Jail.

A total of three victims were shot at the convenience store on January 2.

The shooting occurred in the evening, at 5:27 p.m., on  the 1700 block of Old FM 440.

Officers received a 911 call in reference to shots fired today at 5:27pm, in the parking lot of the Star Mart Convenience Store, located at 1704 Old FM 440. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located three males with gunshot wounds.

Witnesses say that a black male with dreads got out of a white Lincoln Towncar, approached the maroon SUV and shot the three occupants. The suspect then allegedly fled south on Old FM 440.

This case remains under investigation.
