Local winery wins plethora of awards at international competition

Messina Hof, one of the fastest growing and award-winning wineries and resorts in Texas, recently announced its winning wines in the 2012 Lone Star International Wine Competition.

The Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association held the 29th Annual Lone Star International Wine Competition on June 4 and 5, 2012 in historic Grapevine, TX. Wine entries included 514 different varietals from Texas, across the United States and around the world. Medals were awarded by a panel of 26 judges, consisting of local experts from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin and Houston metropolitan areas.

Messina Hof Winery and Resort triumphed in the competition, winning all 12 awards in three different categories for each wine submitted, including four bronze awards, seven silver awards (top percentage of all entries) and one gold award for its Moscato "Tribute to Innocence" varietal.
