Austin, Texas — A new report by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) says 76 percent of students in the class of 2015 are on track with graduation requirements.
That means about 309,000 students have completed all or most of their end of course assessments, under the new STAAR test, with passing scores. In recent legislation, the required amount of assessment tests was reduced from 15 to five. In the 24 percent of students that have not passed all tests, the TEA says many only need to complete one more assessment.
