Killeen Police are investigating a shooting death that occurred on October 11 in the 3200 block of Hereford Lane.
Officers responded to a call at an apartment complex at 11:03 p.m. telling them someone had been shot at that address. Upon the officers, arrival they found a 24-year-old deceased male inside the living room.
The officers began an investigation, which revealed that the victim was visiting the apartment when he and another male became involved in a verbal altercation. The altercation then turned physical and the male shot the victim before fleeing the apartment. Justice of the Peace, Bill Cooke, pronounced Latternace Deshawn Newsome dead at 11:35p.m. and ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences.
