A Waco man was sentenced to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an April incident where he reportedly stole a Subway sandwich.

Antonio Singleton, 20, was arrested following the April 20 incident. According to police, the incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. that Saturday evening, when officers were dispatched to a Subway restaurant, located at 5530 Bosque, on a robbery.  Singleton reportedly ordered a sandwich and only gave the clerk a very small amount of change. Singleton would not give the clerk the full amount due. He then started to leave the store with the sandwich.

The clerk attempted to stop Singleton and keep him from leaving with the sandwich. A scuffle started that resulted in the clerk getting injured and Singleton ran from the scene.

Witnesses were calling in, telling police the direction in which Singleton was running. Officers caught Singleton in the parking lot of the Target store. Singleton was arrested for robbery. The clerk received minor injuries. Crime Scene Technicians assisted on the call.
