KILLEEN -- After conning dozens of people out of thousands of dollars by faking having cancer. an Austin man is headed to prison.

33-year-old Brian Bonniwell also known as Brian Fisher was sentenced Monday to two years in prison and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus restitution.

He is accused of lying about having the terminal illness cancer and raising money through a fundraiser held in his honor in Killeen in March 2011.

Bonniwell's lawyer says he will appeal the sentence.
