MCC’s Weekend College adds new spring courses

Friday, November 30, 2012 - 12:26pm

McLennan Community College has expanded its offering of Weekend College classes for the spring 2013 semester. Additional core curriculum classes will be offered for those who want to build their own schedules.

The Weekend College offers two options for students: (1) follow a sequence of courses to complete the core curriculum in one year or (2) choose their own classes that fit their degree or certificate plan.

MCC’s additional courses allow students more flexibility when planning their schedules. Weekend College courses meet on Saturdays and also include some business classes and developmental courses in English, math and reading. Core curriculum classes are a set of courses designed to transfer to state universities to apply toward a bachelor’s degree. The business classes apply toward a certificate of completion or associate degree in general business.

The Weekend College allows students – including working adults, those who prefer a nontraditional schedule, and high school students seeking dual credit or early admission – to build their class schedule around their life schedule.

Additional MCC departments will be open on the weekends to allow Weekend College students access to resources like tutoring, food service, library services, computer labs, the bookstore and advisors.
