Waco, Texas — The McLennan County district clerk's office has re-issued their warning about a jury duty scam going around.
Apparently phone calls are going out that appear to be from county officials that say a person has missed jury duty and threatens to arrest them for failure to appear. The scam is then requesting personal information. So far, the scam seems to target mostly the elderly, with seven more people falling victim to the scam this week.
The district clerk's office says if you receive this call, contact their office or the sheriff's office immediately.
this scam is also reportedly going around other parts of texas and other states.
