McLennan County, TX — A 44 year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 75 year-old man who was known to give homeless people a place to stay.
Matt Cathon, Chief Deputy of the McLennan County Sheriff's Department, said Roy Lee Boykin, 44, is now in the McLennan County Jail facing a charge of Capital Murder.
Boykin is being accused of beating Chalk Bluff resident Albert Kilgo to death.
Investigators in the department were let into Kilgo’s home by family members who said they had not heard from Kilgo in many days.
Inside they found the slightly-decomposed body of Kilgo, who according to Cathon, often asked people living under overpasses in the Waco area if they wanted to come home with him.
The department had warned Kilgo against the high-risk offerings before.
After discovering the body, detectives then located Kilgo’s truck at a motel that Boykin was staying at in Bellmead.
Boykin was arrested shortly afterward and booked into the McLennan County jail where he still is with a bond set at $100.000.
