Mexia man indicted on intoxication manslaughter charges

Waco, Tx — A McLennan County Grand Jury has indicted a Mexia man on two counts of intoxication manslaughter for an October 12 car accident that left a woman and her mother dead.
Erick Escobedo-Contreras was reportedly intoxicated when he veered into oncoming traffic on U.S. Highway 84, near FM 939. The victim, Virginia Olivarez, was hit head-on in her Hyundai and died at the scene. Olivarez's passenger, her mother, Mary Jordan died at the hospital from her injuries.
