Dozens of MG cars will be in Central Texas this weekend. British car enthusiasts have been meeting in Salado on Mothers Day weekend for the past 30 years.

On Saturday they are showcasing their cars and driving around the area.

MG stopped production in 1980. Known for their small size and sporty looks, MGs are rarely seen on Texas roads today.

Every year, the Texas MG Register car club hosts what they call the Gathering of Faithful. It is a way to meet fellow owners and have fun while shifting gears.

“One of the things that happens to all of us as owners is when you stop at a gas station. Somebody goes, ‘Hey, my dad had one of those. Or, I had one of those in high school, or my buddy had one.’ So everybody kind of has a connection to an MG whether they have actually owned one or not," said MG enthusiast Wayne Kube.

Saturday's car show and judging takes place behind the Stagecoach Inn in Salado.

Festivities begin at 10am
