Midway ISD works hard to complete bond projects
WOODWAY, TX — It hasn't even been a year yet since Midway ISD was awarded $5.4 million for bond projects, and the district says they've already completed several items and are near completion on many others.
Last May, the funds were awarded following a bond election. Midway ISD says they have already completed a majority of their maintenance projects and are expecting to finish over the summer. They've also ordered 21 new buses, a suburban, and a car for the district. Officials are planning to break ground on several buildings projects in the coming weeks.
"It hasn't even been a year since the election passed for the bond, but we were able to start immediately. The very first summer, we were getting infrastructure for the technology projects, installing all of our security projects, immediately starting on maintenance projects," said Traci Marlin, spokeswoman for Midway ISD.
Due to the money from the bond covering so many projects, the district is also looking to hire 100 new employees. A job fair will be held on March 29. More than 500 applicants attended last year's job fair.
