Mosquitoes in Brazos county test positive for West Nile
College Station, Texas (KYLE) — The Brazos County Health Department is warning people to protect themselves after mosquitoes collected earlier this month tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
The mosquitoes were collected Aug. 4th on the Texas A&M golf course.
No human cases of West Nile have been reported in Brazos County since 2012.
Residents are being urged to drain standing water, wear insect repellent containing DEET and to stay indoors around dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
