NASA captures photo of winter storm blowing over U.S.

Sunday, March 2, 2014 - 2:57pm

March is roaming in like a lion for much of the country.

This is the view from space of the latest winter storm captured by a NASA satellite.

It is expected to add to the already record-high snow accumulations in cities across the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast.

This storm is a coast-to-coast event impacting 106 million people.

It started as a low pressure system dumping heavy rains on California.

As it heads across the country it will bring snow to the North and the risk of severe thunderstorms to the South.
