COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — Another natural gas line break, this time in south College Station.
The break happened near the new Scott and White Hospital off Rock Prairie Road and Highway Six just before 11:00 Wednesday morning.
Crews drilling accidentally hit a six-inch pipe causing the natural gas leak. Rock Prairie Road was closed for several hours as crews worked to repair the pipe.
This is the second gas line break in College Station in two weeks.
"All of the construction crews do what they should," said Bart Humphreys with the College Station Fire Department. "They call and try to get the lines located but then again, that gives you some leeway. They know just about where it is but aren't totally sure so yeah, this is very similar to the one the other day."
Because of the windy conditions earlier no evacuations were needed.
