BRUCEVILLE-EDDY -- Get ready for more construction because another leg of the billion dollar Interstate 35 project has begun.
Today was the official ground breaking for the 9-mile stretch between Bruceville-Eddy and north Troy.
TxDot estimates this project will cost 120.7 million dollars and will be completed by 2016.
Smaller towns along the I-35 corridor are hoping it will bring them a little more business.
"We hope that maybe it will bring in new businesses and everything here for Bruceville-Eddy," Bruceville-Eddy Mayor Rick Eaton said.
The construction will include replacing cross-over bridges, a new overpass, adding two additional lanes on I-35 from 4 lanes to 6 and new one-way access roads.
The next I-35 project is scheduled to start next month to construct frontage road bridges over the Brazos River in Waco.
