The food truck industry is serving up a frenzy in downtown Waco with the emergence of new trucks.

Within the past couple months two new trucks have surfaced in the area, offering a variety of cuisine to satisfy any mixture of tastebuds. Club Sandwich, ran by owner Youngdae Moon, started serving customers an Asian inspired menu in front of Dichotomy Coffee & Spirits in May. The new trucks have increased foot traffic and revenue sales in the downtown area. The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce says, a year ago there was virtually no food trucks that operated downtown and today, they are up to eight.

"Imagine Waco, which is a strategy for growing the downtown area, we developed that strategy with the premises that we would capture significant population employment growth here in the downtown over the next several years. Food business, food trucks restaurants are all a part of that strategy. "- Said Chris McGowan, Director of Urban Development.

The momentum of new business and food trucks continues to grow in downtown. In the last year the city has seen two dozens new businesses surface. Since 2007 when the Imagine Waco initiative began, there has been more than a $500 million spent in the development of the downtown area.
