In a combined effort, Waco Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety will join forces to combat the problem of driving while intoxicated. Officers from both agencies will be patrolling with the focus of arresting offenders who choose to drink and drive.

Starting Friday, judges will be readily available to assist officers in obtaining search warrants for the blood of individuals who refuse to give breath specimens when arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. This effort streamlines the warrant acquisition process and helps to build solid cases that can lead to impaired driving convictions.

Those that choose to drink and drive and risk the safety of our citizens can rest assured that Waco P.D. and Texas D.P.S. will swiftly enforce DWI laws. The chances of being caught, arrested, and convicted increase during these efforts.
