Officers take over Killeen railroads for "Officer on the Train Event"

Killeen, Texas (KWKT) — On Thursday morning the Killeen and Harker Heights police partnered up to increase railroad safety awareness.The departments participated in the an "Officer on the Train Event."
The event gave officers the opportunity to approach and see vehicles from an engineers perspective.
The officers also handed out citations to those who disregarded the railroad warning signs.
Texas State law requires motorist to stop up to 15 feet away from the tracks and no more than 50 feet away.
Officers encourage motorist and pedestrians to "Look,Listen and Live" when approaching a crossing sign.
