Heavy rainfall can develop into deadly flash flooding in minutes. Midway High School knows this all too well as last week they lost one of their recent graduates,18-year-old Lacharles Montgomery. Police say Lacharles was on his way home from work when his car was swept away by moving waters. Officers ask motorist to take an alternate route if streets are flooded.

"Always caution it, if you see running water across a roadway you really don't know how deep it is.
Don't cross it and don't take that chance thinking that it's not going to happen to you because it can. So its one of those things that it's better safe than sorry."

Waco police believe Montgomery most likely did not see the road conditions until it was too late.
