WACO -- Waco Police are investigating an attempted robbery case in which a man broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment to steal, among other things, illegal drugs.

It happened right next to Baylor University's campus. Waco Police responded to a prowler call at the 900-block of Baylor Avenue early Sunday morning.

When they arrived Michael John Greenleaf, 23 was walking out with a TV set after kicking in the door.

"[Police] figure out there's two other people in the parking lot in a car that had also been in the apartment, that had all three of them broken in," Sgt. Patrick Swanton with the Waco Police said.

Police say the men knew that the woman was gone from the home at the time and knew which items to take, including marijuana.

All three were taken into custody.

So far the woman has not been charged for possession.

both the woman and Greenleaf are Baylor students.
