Pedestrian involved in auto pedestrian accident identified

Bryan Police are currently investigating a fatal auto pedestrian accident that happened Monday.

On February 17, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., Bryan Police were called to an auto pedestrian wreck that happened at west William J. Bryan and north Randolph.

A Dodge pickup was traveing eastbound in the inside lane when the driver struck a pedestrian in the middle of the roadway.

The pedestrian, Enrique Padron-Espinoza, 40, was taken to a local hospital and then flown to a Temple hospital with serious injuries.

On Friday , Espinoza succumbed to his injuries.

The traffic and safety unit, criminal investigation unit, and crime scene were called to work the collision. The driver of the truck has been fully cooperative during the investigation.

At this time the investigatin is still ongoing but police do not believe the driver of the vehiclew as under the influence of any alcohol or other substances at the time of the collision.
