Playtex recalls pacifier holder clip due to choking hazard

Playtex is recalling a pacifier holder clip due to a choking hazard.

This recall involves the Playtex pacifier holder clip that can attach a pacifier to items like clothing, diaper bags, and strollers.

This pacifier holder clip can crack and a small part can break off. This poses a choking hazard to small children.

It is a plastic clip with a figure and a "Playtex" copyright logo that slides up and down to adjust the clip, a ribbon, and a clear plastic ring that stretches to fit the pacifier.

The pacifier holder was sold in green with a monkey figure, pink with a flower, and blue with a tow truck.

More than one million pacifier clips have been sold in the U.S. and 150,000 have been sold in Canada.

Playtex has received 99 reports of the holder cracking or breaking, but no injuries have been reported.

The Consumer Safety Commission asks that consumers stop using this product unless otherwise instructed.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifier holders away from infants and contact Playtex for instructions on how to return the product for a full refund.

This item is sold at Walmart, Target, Burlington Coat Factor, other major retailers, juvenile product, baby and discount stores nationwide, and online at from July 2010 through October 2013 for about $3.
