Irving, Tx — Police in Irving, Texas have released 911 calls from the day of the deadly crash involving two Dallas Cowboys players.
Josh Brent was driving from a nightclub early Saturday when his car flipped over, killing practice squad member Jerry Brown Junior.
In the 911 call, a passing driver reports seeing smoke coming from an upside down car.
Caller: Hi I need to report a car accident.
Caller: I'm going 114 West. It's right before O'Conner. It's on the Rochelle exit on the Service Rd.
Operator: "Okay, is anybody injured?"
Caller: "I don't know. I just drove past it. It looks like it just happened. It was a car upside down and there was smoke everywhere."
The Dallas Morning News reports Brent had a blood alcohol level of 0.18, more than double the legal limit at the time of the accident.
Brent is charged with intoxication manslaughter and is free on $500,000 bond.
If convicted, the charge could carry a a maximum sentence of 20-years in prison.
