The Texas Rangers have acquired a big bat to add to the lineup.

Arlington will welcome, now former Chicago White Sox right fielder, Alex Rios.

Rios, 32, has a .277 season batting average with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs.

Ríos was initially drafted as the 19th pick the first round of the 1999 MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.

On July 9, Rios had six hits, tying an American League record, in an 11-4 win over the Detroit Tigers.

The Rangers' outfield now has another slugger to replace Nelson Cruz who was suspended earlier this week for the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs.
