Robinson teen charged with animal cruelty for slamming dog to ground

A Robinson teenager has been charged with animal cruelty after police say he slammed a dog into the ground repeatedly.

Christopher Danysh, 18, was arrested Monday night.

According to Robinson PD Lieutenant O'Connor, the incident happened around 8 p.m. Monday. Officers got a call about a man picking up a dog and slamming it into the ground. When officers got there, they saw the dog in a kennel and Danysh was slamming what appeared to be the butt of a rifle into the kennel.

“As soon as he saw the officers, he threw the rifle down and yelled it’s a BB gun,” said O'Connor.

O'Connor says it appeared Danysh had been drinking.

"He said he was disciplining the dog for being disobedient,” said O'Connor.
