BRYAN, Tx (KYLE) — A man wanted in connection with a Bryan bank robbery is now in police custody.
Eric Portis was arrested by Harris County officials a week and a half ago.
Police say Portis and Bryan Champion carjacked a man on July 30th and then robbed the Commerce National Bank on East 29th street less than two hours later.
The pair then ditched the car and got away from police.
Portis later evaded police again about a month later when he led Hearne PD on a chase that eventually turned into a 12 hour police standoff with the SWAT team in Calvert.
In all, Portis is facing seven counts of aggravated robbery, one count aggravated kidnapping and a warrant from Hearne for evading arrest.
Champion turned himself into authorities last month.
