McGregor, TX — SpaceX successfully tested a full-mission firing of its Falcon 9 rocket booster in McGrgeor on Sunday.
The test lasted a full three minutes.
The company had warned residents of a possible test coming as early as Friday.
The booster consists of nine different Merlin 1D rocket engines and is designed to launch various spacecraft including the Grasshopper reusable-rocket prototype.
The entire three-minute test is meant to simulate the approximate time it takes to get to orbit.
SpaceX's McGregor testing facility is located 20 miles southwest of Waco.
