SpaceX testing to get larger, louder
McGregor testing facility

McGregor, TX — A heads up for residents in McGregor: Get ready for more SpaceX testing, but this time, expect a little more noise.
Details are always vague when coming from the privately-owned space exploration agency owned by PayPal founder Elon Musk.
But late last week, SpaceX warned of new tests that will be louder than normal.
SpaceX’s Merlin 1D engine achieved flight qualifications in March.
Some speculate that testing multiple of these-type engines at once is the cause for warning.
A ten-second test will come as early as Tuesday or Wednesday.
A three-minute sustained test will come later in the week after the smaller test.
