State senator ending re-election campaign

WACO - Republican Senator Kip Averitt of Waco has announced he will end his re-election campaign.

The senator cited health problems as his reason behind quitting the race.

“While I will not serve another term, serving my friends and neighbors has been my highest honor and greatest privilege, and I am proud of all that we’ve accomplished together.” Averitt said.
