Student Hit by Car

On September 12, 2012 at 6:56 am, Bellmead Police Officers and Bellmead Medical Personnel were dispatched to the 4000 Blk Bellmead Dr. for a report of an accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian. When the officers and medical personnel arrived, the pedestrian was breathing and responsive. The pedestrian was transported to an unknown medical facility.

Witnesses told the officers that the driver was traveling west on Bellmead drive and the person ran across the westbound traffic attempting to beat the traffic and that is when the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle. The driver stopped and that is when police and medical was notified of the accident. The driver was arrested for no driver license and no insurance and transported to the McLennan County Jail.

The pedestrian is a teenager and a student of LaVega High School. It is reported the injured person is currently in stable condition.
