Subway installs touch screen drive-thru ordering
Boiling Springs, SC (WHNS) -- Ordering your sub just got faster at one Upstate Subway location for customers using the drive-thru.
Subway displayed its touch screen ordering system at the Boiling Springs fast-food restaurant on Highway 9 on Thursday during the lunch hour.
The president for Subway in South Carolina was on hand to demonstrate the kiosk called the "World's Fastest Drive Thru."
The system allows customers' sandwiches to be made as the order is entered and can save it with a phone number for return visits. The touch screen also adjusts to vehicle's height.
The machines first launched in 2011 and are made by NEXTEP Systems, but the Boiling Springs location is the first in the Upstate to feature the time-saving system. The Augusta Street location in Greenville will get the kiosk later in August as more are rolled out across the state.
