On Saturday around 9:00 a.m., Temple Police responded to a robbery that just occurred at the “Westside Drug Store,” 1516 South 31st Street.

Officers arrived on scene and met with the employee on duty.

The victim stated that upon arriving for work that morning a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black “toboggan style” cap, red shirt and dark shorts was sitting near the store.

The clerk advised that the men's headwear seemed unusual due to the warm weather and caused the victim to enter the store and lock the door while awaiting the second employee to arrive for work.

Once the second employee arrived on scene the victim unlocked the store doors for business. At this time the male suspect reportedly entered the store and approached the register.

The man displayed a black handgun demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

No one was hurt in the incident. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.
